Well first you will be lucky if it even starts since it will have a weak spark. Plus if the genny has been reworked to put out 12 volts it will either cook the battery or worse blow the battery up in your face which will not be good for you or the tractor with all that acid fling all over the place. It would be safer to use a 12 volt battery and not worry about hurting the battery
