Hard on the ego

Anyone ever work for hours (days actually) to fix something & have someone come along & find a much simpler solution (that works)?
I was trying to get the track back on my HD-5 & just couldn't get it to go on. It was getting close, then it would get stubborn or slip back. Along comes the wife with a lifesaving drink. She looks at it(the track), Grabs a pry bar, Trys a few things & says have you tried......
In 10 min the darn thing was on. O.K. I've bared my ego, lets hear if I'm the only one.
