Fordson Power Major 3pt Levelling box repair

Hi
Can anyone give any advice on the repair of a 3pt link levelling box, mine has a stripped the adjusting thread about half way down.
The top of the box seeems to have a large plate/core plug which might tap out from the inside or pull if drilled / bolted and pulled with say a hub puller.

If I can get it apart will it go back ok?

Is this a good thing to do or should i just pick up another box.
