Years ago, when my dad was applying for social security, (this was shortly after farmers were finally allowed in,) the interviewer asked why he put down 12 hour days in the winter and 16 to 18 hourd during the summer. His response' "Ever try to plow frozen ground?" (Yup, he was a dairyman!)
