Well Tom first you have a short lever on the left of the steering column pull it up and pull your thottle (long lever on right) up. Make sure you have gas in little tank and on. Then turn your key on, pull the choke out and hit the starter it should start, then push your choke in, let it run and warm up for 30 seconds to a minute, then pull the little lever down and the throttle lever down a little at the same time and your on diesel. Simple as that. Have fun and I'm sure you will because they are a blast. Jim
