O/T GMC blows fuses

My 95 Sierra has started blowing the turn signal fuse. I can't find a short, the "blow" is not instant when you put in a new fuse. I noticed some corrosion in the fuse holder where you plug the fuse in. What could I clean that with? I have a trailer light and brake hook-up on it. Anyone have a similar experience or know where to look for the remedy. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
