I would say that the oil leak is a common problem on those gas and diesel,if not too bad don't worry about it. Also check that the valve cover isn't leaking and running down and look like the head leak or adding to it. A good tune up, including valve adjustment,and proper timing and carb. settings could easily account for the lost HP. Even if it is low how much power do you require ? if you run that engine up aginst that 70 hp figure very often you are going to suck up lots of gas ! Just light loader work and so forth doesn't require it to need much hp so alot depends on what you need it for. I would not reccommend a gas if you plan on heavy work outs,but the colder it gets the better ours starts.Great for loader and blade work. I think that price sounds reasonable as I'd not let ours go that cheap. $3,500 for a loader is not out of line if it's not worn out by what I've seen them go on ebay for that.
