Char-Lynn Hydraulic Pump Model 500-138-PC

These pumps were used probably in the late 40s and early 50s to provide remote cylinder power from a tractor not having built-in hydraulic power. I'm looking for any operating instructions and any other technical information about these units.
Following is the description:
It is a cylinder shaped tank and oil pump within the overall assembly approximately 12" long by 10-11" diameter. Pump body is machined aluminum set inside and at base of cylinder.
