Thought about you guys with your IHs last night. Drove about 45 miles south of here to pick up a Ford scoop that a guy hauled up from NE. The hauler had bought a non runing JD50 and was here to pick it up. I got there just in time to watch the seller try to pull the JD onto the trailer by pulling along side the truck/trailer with a chain using an IH 900? series. Nothing but mud here and the IH started to spin. So he asked me if I could drive a Hydro. Huh? No. He said yes you can - left side of the dash pull the lever backwards. So I inched the IH backwards while he helped push the JD from behind with a skid loader. Together we got it on. Got a total of 12' of driving it under my belt now. All of it in reverse. Mighty fine tractor that IH. Cept this one didn't have the steps on the side to crawl up onto the thing. Don't know how I'd have got up there were it not for my long legs.
