FIL has been hauling cattle for 20+ years. He charges a flat rate/animal. If it is anything out of the ordinary he charges a bit more. Like the guys that call late morning as he is heading back from the sales barn and they want the animals hauled to that barn that day. Biggest thing is respect other operators, you screw them outa customers it wont be hard for them to get the business back. Plus you want freinds out there in the business for helping out with large quantity deals that are good money, but cant do yourself. Or for them days when your good customers need hauling and your broke down, you can call someone and have YOUR customer taking care of with out worrying bout them stealing your business. I'll ask the FIL what his rates actually are and let ya know.
