John Deere 1010 Special

I have a 1010 special that I bought this last summer. Barring the rear wheel slip when plowing, I really like the tractor. I don't like the lack of PS and Live PTO. I am planning on adding weight to the rear if I keep it. Is there anything I can do about the PS and PTO? Would it be better to sell the 1010 and buy something different?
