I have mowed with both and can say that the type of soil is equally important. In a gravel soil I had no problem with ag tires since any marks "flattened" out with time and rain. Ag tires were fine in gravel soil. In clay type soil, marks and tire tracks tend to stay there. My lugs and repetitive mowing made a lumpy surface and made several acres progressively harder. So I switched to industrial tires, whick I was skeptical of. I thought they were junk. I was surprised they work very well and tear up nothing. But I can really feel the old lug marks before and it's been two years since I switched. Maybe you could borrow a tractor with tires you want and see how they handle the slope. If the slope is not too severe i think industrial tires would be fine and I would guess the same towards turf tires.
