I'd start by adjusting the free play and then if it still does it adjust the clutch by the book. You have to read very carefully as there are many different clutches in those and adjust differently. If it still does it after everything is in adjustment I'm guessing some oil or grease or rust makeing it stick. You may be able to avoid splitting it by putting it in high gear engine about full throttle then let the clutch out and hold the brakes. It should slip and burn off some of the junk and then it may work good again. DO NOT do this too long as it will get hot and if too hot may warp something which could allready be another reason it acts like it does. A warped clutch plate can act like that too.
