Engine aditives?

I have been working on an old 930 Case diesel tractor, I told myself if I got it running so I could check out the functions of the tractor I would go ahead and spend the money to rebuild the motor, well I got the old sow running and it ran out good, this tractor has set for 20 plus years that I know of, but the old motor did not sound that bad, and it ran clean for a diesel, I have been wondering about adding slick 50 or Marvels to the oil and running it for short periods of time, maybe 15 minutes or so and see if the motor would come into its own, the old girl has good oil pressure so that tells me the bearings must be fair, and it started off the starter so compression must be decent, ok. what do you guys think?
