Here what I found recently. Seller was offering "rare" music CD. He had enable "hide bidders." So you can't tell who is bidding. Bid was just getting started at three bids bringing it up to $18. So I entered $19, immediately it jumped to $20. So I entered $21, bidder jumped to $22. So I set my bids to automatically climb until it it hit $40. Imediately out bid to $41. No more bids until closed two hours later. Few minutes later I get "second chance offer" for $40. So seller was faking to be a buyer to see my high end. I did not take the bait. I see he is doing this with other auctions as well.

I won't bid on any auction now that does not show who the buyers are.
