If it reallyyyyyyy? needs BOTH a new armature plus field coils, it may be wiser to go ahead n buy a whole new rebuilt unit n be done with it. Often its only a set of brushes n maybe a bushing n have the commutator turned is about all they usually require. However if the bushings were so shot the armature was dragging it may be shot and they arent cheap. If the armature isnt shorted to ground and passes the smell test it might be fine n all you need is brushes, maybe a bushing??? John T
