http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/ Girlfriend has the car you describe... she loves it. She's gotten as much as 36mpg on the interstate usually at least 30 on the highway. 22 to 25 in the city. I run Mobil 1 10w30 with a 4000 mile change interval. They can have oil gel problems with regular oil. Takes 3.8 quarts. It has a drain plug at the bottom of the transmission. I drain/add 2 quarts of ATF with every oil change. There isn't really a filter inside... just a screen. I do take the pan off once and a while to clean it up. Change the timing belt every 60-90 thousand miles. Other then that, tires, battery, and CV boots is about all you'll have to worry about. She plans to drive it forever. Excellent little cars ! I wish I had a '96 two door.
