While I"m not familiar with Allisons, the answer is almost certainly yes, but what?? Did you see the fluid/filter change? (a look at the fliud/filter would"ve told a lot about maintenence, or was it changed in an effort to fix the problem?).Was the trans fully warmed up when slow shift? was shift slipping ,smooth or harsh when it took up? Suggestions: run archives on Chev/GMC truck sites for Allison shift problems (it could be a "normal" idiosyncrasy), and drive to GMC dealer for talk with service manager (it"s possible owner has already done so, and that"s why it"s for sale!).
