I wasen't very interested in air planes until I Joined the Navy. Since there wasen't an opening in the Seabee's I choise avaition mechanics school. After school I was sent to SanDiego to a squadron of Sea Planes (water landing only) They had twin 18 cylinder engines. One of the best sounds to hear is one of those engines starting. Also worked on a P2V the plane had four engines Two radial, and two jet. Later on our squadron got new planes they were the Lockeed P3's. They were four engine turboprop. Ever since thoes days If I hear a plane going over I will stop what I'm doing and look up to see what it is. Love those old planes Stan
