Had somewhat the same problem with a car years ago - the lever that acts to push the clutch in and out pivoted on a bolt with a half round ball under the head, kinda like a valve lifter pivot. the bolt worked loose - had to split the motor and clutch assy to tighten the bolt. What a pain!
