8 volt batterys or at best a stop gap fix for other problems and in the long run can/will cause other problems. With out doing something to the chargeing system you will have an 8 volt battery that wall at best have about 7 volts in it since the chargeing system as is will only put out 7 volts or so. Plus when you need to charge it up you run into another problem since chargers for 8 volt batteries are like tring to find hens teeth
