In Iowa you are not able to haul tractors on a farm plate.It is suppose to be feed,grain,livestock,or hay.Tractors are not considered farm comoditys.You are suppose to have a commercial plate on your tow rig for the total wt. of unit loaded.When you get over 12T you need a class b or better liscense.Over 14T you have to have inspection on both units every yr.This how it was told to me by the DOT when they stopped me.I carry a 18T plate on my truck
