Attorneys for the NFL sent a letter to Fall Creek Baptsit Church here in Indianapolis demanding the church not have a souper bowel party when they became aware of a flyer promoting the party, nor could the church project the image on a 12 foot screen the church planned to use for their party nor could they charge a small fee to attendees for snacks,The letter further stated the chuch or anyone else is banned from using the copyrighted "Souper Bowel"(protecting myself from being sued--you know the phrase) in connection with any promotion of such a party. NFL counsel Rachel L. Margolies further stated it is a against the law for for the church to have a TV screen larger than 55 inches AND the church is limited to the use of only one TV. The NFL even took exception to the church's plan to try influencing party goers with a video of Colts coach Tony Dungy and Bears coach Lovie Smith giving their Christian witness! The church pastor says their intent was to give the public an option to going to places where alcohol is served and the surrounding may not be appropriate for children to attend. The pastor said they won't break the law, but sees a double standard when bars can use large screened TVs and charge for seats, food and drinks. My question is how could the NFL be harmed by all this?Isn't that the intent of any law ,to give protection from harm?
