It was below 0 all night, been hoverin between there and 20 to 30 as a high in the last few days with a light wind, and 4" of snow cover. Right now at 7 deg, probably won't reach 20 today. Kind of mild compared to -20 or -30, which this area rarely sees, but not too far north from here, I've worked in those -30 temperatures, kind of prefer it a bit warmer myself LOL, say 0 to 20, can get used to that and still work outside, except if the wind is a blowin, that always does me in. We have close to 10" of ice on the 20 acre pond, and some smooth wind blown ice to skate on in the area we cleared off with an ATV with a snow plow. It was open water 3 weeks ago. So that jetstream finally took a dive and delivered the artic air, and if I recall when it first did so, there was no snow cover here, so I'm hoping some of the insects like ticks, gnats, black flies were decimated, I'm actually not sure how they are affected by the cold, but after last years warm winter, those ticks were abundant. I can't recall the last time we had a deep freeze with little or no snow cover.
