On mine (E46), lots of water had settled down in the rams, I'd angle the blade the first time and boom she would die, couldn't lower it, could only angle one way etc etc. Rebuilt it and one of the solenoids was also dirty. Flushed probably a half cup of water out of it even though I had water absorbing oil. Put her back in service, a week later the rams had drug in enough snow into it to freeze up again. I think some sleeves are needed or somthing. Its been parked a couple of years now, using the blower on the tractor now.
