Where I lay plastic mulch I use a 6' Woods 3 pt rototiller after doing all the other tillage. Makes the plastic lay easier and provides a better bed to transplant into. I've been considering using a chisel plow and then whatever secondary tillage to get a good enough seed bed. The picture where the tomatoes are is extremely shalely ground. It can almost cut your hands pushing the plants in. The one with the tractor going down the row in the sweet corn is extremely deep loam. Best ground I have. Only 1/4 mile apart but on 2 different ridges. All my ground is ridge runner land, no bottom land. Phil
