Internationals with the 466 are very good and cheaper to work on. I had a Hino that was excellent except it only had a 6 speed tranny. It turned super sharp and got about 16 mpg when empty. I'd buy another one. I had a GMC 6500 single axle with a 366. Good truck but only 8 mpg on a good day. I took the box off and put it on the Hino. The Chev/GM 8.2 litre diesel isn't one of their better engines. Get a commercial vehicle inspection! Done by an independent shop. Get the seller to include it for the purchase. When I bought the GMC, I had to spend $2000 on a complete rear brake job. I sued and got back most of the money I spent because it had an inspection. The problem was that the seller of the trucks BIL was a mechanic and put new brake pads on worn out drums. The seller took it to an inspection place that he knew from where he worked. They believed him the brakes were all done and didn't pull a wheel off. The one brake drum actually split and was almost in two pieces! This happened while it was loaded. I hobbled it along to get it unloaded and in for repairs. We had a meeting with lawyers at the court house and I took the drum there. The guys from the inspection shop eyes almost popped out when he saw the drum. He tried to say that you have to believe people what repairs they did on their vehicles. What's the sense of the inspection? Just giving you a warning. The funny part is that the truck was a low enough GVW that it didn't need an inspection. The seller paid half of my settlement. He wasn't too happy. Dave
