Back when I was a silo builder, the building supervisor (who got around and saw lots of different machines running blowers)would chuckle about 2 cylinder Deeres. He said it was a hoot to listen to them try to respond to their governors when the PTO load would change at all.

On the other hand, in some parts of the country anyway, there were people who would deal in nothing else, claiming that the overall simplicity and reliability overshadowed all faults.

Well, after 50 or 60 years they should have gotten the bugs out of the design.
