In addition to the other comments, I would like to add that rolling the engine over by hand, then by the starter (if equipped) in short bursts without spark plugs or fuel is an excellent way to be sure oil is delivered to all engine components prior to putting a fire in her. I even went as far as using the starter to ensure I had oil pressure prior to the start. It can even warn of impending trouble prior to catastrophe. Tight spots, noises, and other problems can be sorted out before it causes a major breakage. HTH Aaron
