sounds like you might have an issue with your antenna or coax cable. Even if your swr are to high you still can hear people talking. If you run fiberglass antenna's they can be damaged and you wont even relize it. I drive part time when I am slow at the farm. I use to run 2 fiberglass wilsons. Good antennas just not for when you haul liquid fertilizer on back roads with lots of trees. I switched to 2 wilson stainless whips. No where near the problems now.
