for what its worth,,we have 2 4020s and a 4010,,the 4020s one with a blower both smoke when puttering around,,but not much under load,,and have some blow by,,the 4010 dont smoke at idle but is a frieght train under load, and has blow by like crazy,,just went to the neighbors for OH,,leaks antifreeze to crankcase,,and head gasket leaks lots of oil to outside,you can see the stream,,but on a cold day the 4010 will start easier,,go figure,,the one 4020 that I posted about that used 1.5 gallons of oil on the standby generator,,the neighbor came over and plugged the crankcase venilator,,and said give that a try,,he pulled the intake hose and the intake manifold had bunch of oil in it,,Dunno??????

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
