Buyer beware: not all OBD II scanners available at your local parts store will read power stroke codes. I purchased one of the more expensive "in house models" at Napa and found, after much aggravation,it infact would not interface with the powerstroke. I do not know the difference but would caution you to make absolutlely sure it will read PS before buying. Concern comes from the fact of not alot of stores will let you return electrical items especially items such as code scanners. Some parts houses will scan at no charge. Good luck.
