I would wager that there is nothing wrong with the engine. The mechanic was a little too free with the oil can while he was lubricating everything prior to closing up the top end. Disconnect the coil wire and put a booster battery to the starter and whirl the engine until you get oil pressure, then reconnect the coil wire and fire it up. Watch the temperature and oil pressure and let it run until it reaches a good operating temperature and see if the "oil" problem does not go away.
