John Deere Tachometer won't work?

I'm working on a JD 6300 and the tachometer won't work. This tractor recently had some electrical problems. Is this a electric or mechanical tach?

I'm new to these later model John Deere's and the manual for this tractor is missing.

Any help would be appreciated.
