I've been meaning to post about this for a while so here it goes. Our son Zach was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder back in February of '05. At the time I posted about it on the 'tales board. Again thanks for the thoughts and prayers expressed back then. A bit of an update. A couple from our church also have an autistic son and they pointed us to the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) program at the St. Amant Center in Winnipeg. Zach was accepted in the program and a worker was hired to be his tutor. We wound up switching workers for ABA's internal reasons and what a blessing. The new worker has made a huge difference. He now talks in 4 to 5 word sentences, and the 5 or 6 tantrums a day have disappeared. There are so many other changes it would be almost impossible to list them. She has given our son a hope for his future. So if anyone out there knows of someone with an autistic child, there is hope. Anyone wants to talk, drop me an e-mail. John
