Hi Gang; There should be a small tin plate on the fire wall between the engine & battery compartment. It gives the tractor serial number which originally was the same number as the engine. If its covered in paint soak in paint thinners or brake fluid to clean off the resprayed paint. The engine number is on a flat smoothed surface on the front right hand side of the top of the engine block - serial number engraved into surface. (hopefully the engine has'nt been changed). The tractor castings will also have a set of raised numbers & letters which will give the day and date of casting usually within a few days of each other and a week within the actual date the tractor was built. The engine will have numbers on front left side of block; gearbox on left near clutch pedal; backaxle on top or top rightside of casting. These will give most accurate dating. If anyone wants to date their Fordson Major, Power or Super Major, post them on the site and I will look them up for you & respond. Glad to assist from this side of the pond. Cheers david
