12V generator voltage regulator

I'm looking for a 12 volt (neg-gnd) voltage regulator to work with my Delco-Remy 1100-004 generator. I'm told it's an "A" circuit, which apearently means ground the field-coil, and output the alternator to the battery. Standard 12V automotive (alternator) type regulators do not work correctly. Most auto-parts suppliers have no idea when questioned about regulators for generators. Who knows of a regulator, that's available, that will work? Thanks
