I have a 2003 1500 quad cab with the 4.7 I love the truck been almost trouble free (A/C condenser fan motor and tailite bulb) so far at 78k..That being said, while the truck feels plenty strong light, when I hook a trailer to it I keep checking the parking brake to make sure its not on cause it just looses all its low end grunt. It will still do a passable job on the highway with a 19' jet boat and overdrive Off but If you plan on pulling trailers alot the 4.7 just isnt the right engine. My 17mpg@70mph light drops to about 13 loaded some toolboxes and the boat.. Still I have no complaints while its not the strongest truck Ive had it is the best riding/driving truck Ive had so far.....good luck
