I rebuilt a 601 this last spring. Had almost $1100 in nothing but parts(bored, pistons, new cam, turned crank, clutch, etc.) Did a ford industrial engine this summer and had over $700 in it without new clutch, alternator, etc. The industrial engine is the same basic engine as the 801 engine. These prices were with no labor and I bought the parts from the machine shop which is usually a little cheaper than NH. I agree with JJ, if I already owned the tractor, I would rebuild, otherwise, keep looking or talk him down considerably. Moye
