During a week of steady storms with freezing rain and a hard crust on the snow the wild turkeys couldn't scratch through. I was feeding the birds where they wonder through the creek and clearing about 100 yards from my back deck. Even now with the melting snow I'm putting a little feed out just to have a show for the kids and us to watch those silly fowl. This morning I seen a coyote doing the sneak towards the turkeys with the intentions of breakfast. It took a while with the (&^^%&*() gun laws to unlock the vault and get the 300mag out. The poor dog was beside me and the coyote was starting to move at 175 yards so there wasn't enough time to put Champ in the garage. BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM. One coyote down , then what do I see but coyote #2 step out into the open. BOOOOMMMMM. Knocked him down and watched 2-3 minutes for other coyotes, nothing. I went back into the house and looked out to see coyote #2 get another lease on life and hobble off??? Them things are tough. Now to try and find the dog. Scared the turkeys away too by the way. Maybe if the dog can be found and taken to the coyote he might get keen and want to trail the wounded one. I'll have to hussle as it's going to rain and melt the snow later today. That 2nd coyote should be holed up in some thick spot and stiffening up by now. I had heard the mangey pricks howling/yipping last night. And was thinking they could be trouble again this year for the free range turkeys and chickens. I would post an image but I'm just not smart or computer savy enough to figure out how even though it's been explained 40-50 times here.

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
