My wife bought me a couple pairs of Carhart jeans a few years back and I was not impressed. They were comfortable, but very quickly developed holes around the back pockets. Levi's are not what they were, but they still last longer than anything else I've tried. My main complaint with Levi's is that the quality has always been inconsistent, even 20-30 years ago. A couple of months ago I picked up a pair of Levi's, same size as always. When I got them home, I found out they were about four inches too short! After my wife got done laughing at my "high water" pants, she put them on and they fit her perfectly. She's 5'1", and I'm 5'11".
