Man, I gotta laugh at all the crap given about these tractors, and stick with the Fords.... blah blah blah. What does anybody think these tractors ARE? Escorts built tractors under Ford licence, in India, for probably close to 40 years. These ones, I believe, are based on the thousand series Fords (mostly the 3000 I think). They've probably been updated somewhat over the years.... Beyond that, I don't know much about them, or the quality of the build, etc.... but the original thousand series design was just about bulletproof, and certainly rock solid as one of the best tractors ever built. What they're doing today, I don't know. Find some owners. Talk to them. Find out the actual problems and advantages rather than the supposed built in China crap I'm reading here. I do suspect there are a fair number of changes from the old Ford design, but these may well be a solid little tractor for all that, and a good deal cheaper. At a bare minimum, a well spec'd 3000 is a hell of a lot more tractor than an 8N, and in functional terms, a good deal more than an 800, even if it has a bit less power..... Rod
