LOL I just love all the replies you got. I like the ones about Farmtrac being made in China. LOL Farmtrac spent a lot of money on a brand new plant in Tarboro nc. in 05. They back what they sell and aim to please. I bought one in 04. It's an 80 and the model no. changed after the buyout was complete. It's the 675 now. 72 hp 4 cyl. Perkins engine. 12 speed Fwd. & Rev. with shuttle. Got just a little over 500 hours on it now. Very pleased with it. Problems with it. Air in the hydraulic oil. Farmtrac sent parts to my dealer and his road mechanic came here and installed the upgrade. No charge and the tractor was 14 months old then. Had a loader cylinder leaking a little. Mentioned it to my dealer and Farmtrac traded me two new ones for the set on my loader. These are a different style cylinder than what came on it. No charge but I changed the cylinders out. That was last Sept. Like the other gentleman posted, I have a good dealer too. Bought a 2610 Long in 97 new. He replaced the lift pump at 200 hours and haven't had anymore problems with it. If I called him in the morning and asked him to bring out any tractor on the lot he'd be here before the sun went down. A good dealer makes buying easier. I know he'll back what he sells. If you're looking for a new tractor try one out. Our area has lots of them in service. I've seen several being used in tobacco crops. Got some contract highway ditch cutters using Farmtrac in the next county. Also have several lawn service outfits using the Farmtrac compacts. If the Farmtrac's were junk he wouldn't be selling them as fast as he does. Words get around. And as others have said you can rebuild the older Fords and have good tractors. But before Farmtracs are called junk those folks should try one out first. Then if it's junk call it junk. LOL Have a good one.

Tractor Generators - by Chris Pratt. As a companion to the articles on three-brush and two-brush generators, it seemed fitting that we should provide our readers with a description of how a generator works in lay terms. The difficulty with all those "theory of operation" texts is that they border on principles of electricity or physics and such. Since I know nothing of either, you will have to put up with looking at the common sense side of how generators work which means we "
