Well last week I tilled up the area for them and then a couple days ago put down a good thick layer of old bad hay. Then today we just raked it back and dropped them on the ground and covered them back up with the hay. Doing it that way you don't have to dig them up in the fall you just grab the plant and pull and you have a hand full of them potatos. Been planting them that way for years now and it works well
