RE: Ford commander - You can add to the list of problems that the side frames went all the way from the rear axle to the front and they had to be removed to service the brakes. Also the crankshaft was not supposed to be reground and if you do all the bearing manufactures have the wrong specs. Take .010 off the journals and there is zero clearence on the bearings. Ended up having to take .0125 off the shaft to fit a .010 bearing.
