Hello, Sid. Well, I'm one of those "suburbanite yuppies" you like to bash. Yes, I have a garden tractor. Yes, an acreage too. Yes, a place in the burbs, for sale, with a Honda in the driveway. I even own a pair of shorts and a Hawaiin shirt. Got that picture fixed in your mind? Now, how about the rest of the picture... I'm a former cop, mechanic, welder, pipefitter, steel worker, painter and farm hand (all professionally). I own another 200 acres of farmland, which we farm, horses, a small herd of cattle, combines (two) real tractors (two), a backhoe, a 4x4 truck (F-150), a barn, a huge workshop, a pond and woodlands. Maybe I'm not a real man like you are and all, but please be careful about who you're 'bashing'. Americans that choose to live inside or outside the city, whether in the suburbs or the county are Americans nonetheless. Whether a guy drives a Chevy, Honda, Ford or Mercedes doesn't make him more of a man or less of a scourge on society, either way. We all want pretty much the same thing, a good life and better world for our kids. Pointing fingers at other folks and declaring yourself of better stock can be a dangerous and deluding business. Specific individuals may warrant some derision, I suppose, but beware the temptation to judge poeple as a class based solely on extraneous, geopolitical or material observations. Heck, if you actually knew me, you might even like me, even if I do drive a garden tractor sometimes (its okay, its a JD). BTW, if that automatic ever goes south on you, give me a call, I'll help you tear it down.
