Not quite what you had in mind, but I thought I should chime in. I was a contractor for FedEx Home Delivery for about a year and a half-would not recommend that to anyone, by the way. Anyway, had to buy a truck. This is what I bought. 13,000 GVW, 4 cylinder Detroit diesel-turbocharged and intercooled, with the Allison five speed automatic. Yes, it was a dog from a standing start, but it was amazingly nimble once you were moving. Got 13 mpg in town or on the highway. Loved that transmission! Greg
