Just go to gunsamerica - dot - com and look at recent sales. That will give you some idea. I collect pre-64 Model 70s. At present, in good shape, they can range from $700 to $6000 each - depending if pre-world war II, plain-grade or super grade, certain calibers, etc. The other post that says only Model 70s are part of the "pre-64" thing is not entirely true. In 1964, many mass-production techniques began to get used - e.g. machine bedding or barrels, pressed checkering, different actions (in the bolt actions), plainer/cheaper wood, etc. The "pre-64s" are more of hand-crafted gun. When it comes to older lever-actions - there are many things that make the value go up. I saw one sell a few years back for over $4000 - it had a short barrel and was a special "trapper's carbine." With bolt actions, I love the Model 70s, but with a lever-actions - I like the older Marlins better - just a personal preference.

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
