I bought a truck a few years ago from an individual in Louisiana. We signed the papers at a notary's office and I bought temp plates from him for $10. My insurance had me covered for 30 days so that was not a problem. I drove it home, 640 miles, and did not have any problems. I drove it for 2 weeks before I was able to get it registered here in TN...
