I have BTDT and know exactly what you have to do to fix it. No, you don't have to buy anything. You have to do a system restore on the computer to an earlier date when the computer was working properly. Go to START>>>ALL PROGRAMS>>>ACCESSORIES>>>SYSTEM TOOLS>>>SYSTEM RESTORE>>>RESTORE TO AN EARLIER TIME. Now put in a date about a week ago when it was working right and let it reset itself and clear up all the crap that is on there since a week ago. It should start itself up and be working fine after that. Follow the arrows on my instructions and you should have it. I have done this with success about 3 times in the last few years and it works every time. Good luck.
